Pomonok is a central Queens neighborhood anchored by the Pomonok Houses, a large-scale residential development, surrounded by single-family homes and garden-apartment cooperatives. The E/F trains at Kew Gardens-Union Turnpike and Parsons Boulevard stations provide subway service. Kissena Park and its Velodrome are accessible to the east, and the Queens College campus borders the neighborhood.
