The neighborhood features a downtown historic district of 19th-century Victorian and Romanesque architecture, the restored Art Deco St. George Theatre, and the Staten Island Railway's northern terminus. Snug Harbor Cultural Center, a collection of landmarked Greek Revival, Beaux-Arts, and Italianate buildings on 83 acres, lies just west of the neighborhood center.
